Starting Over...

We are excited to announce that we accepted a referral for a little girl yesterday. She is absolutely darling and pretty funny. Her pictures show a very sleepy girl who couldn't be bothered to wake up and join the party. These pics are from her first doctor's visit at 3 days. We've never seen such a little peanut with so much hair. And she's sticking her tongue out at us. How rude!

Anyway, she was born on March 27 in Escuintla and was 5 lb. 9 oz. We think she's adorable. She should be going back for her one month appointment either tomorrow or early next week. We'll get more pictures and medical information then. As for what we know now, she's as healthy as can be. Our trip to visit in a month is still on. We can't wait to meet her. I'll have to take a suitcase full of hairbows for her.
One last tidbit, her foster mother is Ryker's foster mother's best friend. I know that's a lot to digest, but Kristin and Josh have met her several times and assure us that our baby girl couldn't be in better hands.

I know one of the questions we've been asked is what her name will be. Will we keep it the same or what? We've talked and talked about it and looked and looked at her and we definitely think she looks like a Gabriella. And I have loved the name Sol since we met Sol Green. I believe that she will be the sunshine of our lives, if how we feel about her today is any indication. So, there it is... Gabriella Sol. We can't wait to hold you.

We're very grateful for everyone's support. This has been a difficult time and we know that God's plan is in action. We will bring our daughter home. And we ask that as you pray for us, you also include our sweet Karen Lorena. She is in such a scary place. May God keep her safe and warm. And may she know how much we love her today and will always love her.

I have always known that God had a plan for both of you. It just took a few turns to get where he wanted you to be. Our love and prayers go out to both of you and your families. Your new little angel looks so precious and we can't wait to meet her. We will continue to lift Karen up in prayer, that God will bless her and give her comfort. I just keep going back to Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength and ever present help in time of trouble. Love to you both, Jay and Linda

Mandy, I am so happy for you. I would give anything for you not to be on this roller coaster, but I know how God works and it will be even better than we hoped. I just can't wait for you to hold your baby in your arms! Love Always, Karli
