Saturday Night Fever

Tonight we went to dinner at this beautiful restaurant at a higher elevation in Guatemala City. We were joined by our new friends, Shannon, Gaye, and Isabel. We had a lovely evening and an incredible view of the city.

Shannon and Isabel's grandmother, Gaye, said that Gabriella looks so much like their Isabel did at her age. Isabel is just 7 1/2 months and an absolute heartbreaker. We spent much of the last couple of days with them and I've yet to hear her cry. We really enjoyed getting to know our Cincinnatti buddies.

Earlier in the day, we ventured out to the local Handicraft Market. This market is overseen by the Tourism Department of Guatemala. It is lovely and many of the vendors do not speak any English. I must say that I held my own with my Spanish today. I had to translate for our group and then a couple of strangers. However, many Guatemalans shop there as well because it is considered very safe, has free parking, and beautiful items. It really is quite the tranquil setting. And we couldn't have had a more beautiful day for it.

Monkey toes!

Don't worry-- she isn't ready for Happy Hour. She's just chewing on everything. I wanted to see what she would do with a cup. Don't call DCFS yet.

Gabi is definately taking after all her "Sister Aunts" here at home. I think she was preparing for a beach vacation yesterday. Shopping, swimming, eating and drinking beer all in one day.You are training here well GG. Since the daughters of the Sisters are Sisterettes, what are the granddaughters? We will have to think on that one.The pic of the city was fabulous. I saw all of Amie's pics last night. They are spectacular also. I know she can't wait to talk to you.Everyone in the family looks like they are about to bust open with happiness in each pic. We lit a candle at church last night thanking the Lord for all the blessings he has brought your family and a special prayer to bring Gabi home asap. We want to kiss those monkey toes, too.It is still a million degrees here so enjoy your day, stay cool and hoist one to us. Not you Gabi!

We can't wait to hear all about Amie's adventures. I'm sure it's one tale after another. And I know the pics are breathtaking. Just glad Keith made it home with her. What a fun summer we're having. Thanks for the prayers! We know that's the only way anything gets done. Love you Aunt Sue!
