You're So Vain!

Gabriella Sol fell asleep tonight watching herself on my screensaver and listening to her Baby Einstein lullabies. She really likes herself! So funny.

We said goodbye to Nana and Papa today. They left mid-morning for the airport. We had a great time doing nothing and fussing over Gabi. She was definitely the center of attention. She's a really good baby and we couldn't ask for a more accommodating child. Both nights we were able to have dinner with little to no interruption. It was past her bedtime, yet she didn't care. She just sat in her stroller and played with her toys.

Her favorite toy, by far, is her pink bumblebee that Christy and Barb gave her. It has a pullstring and vibrates when you pull it. When she's fussing, you can put it on her belly and she immediately settles down. Thanks Fancy-Christy and Barb!

We had another beautiful day. Ed and I were both able to work out in the hotel gym. Then we took Gabi swimming. Today she kicked, smiled and we got one giggle out of her in the pool. She's definitely become more comfortable in the water. It's so bright in her eyes, even with her hat on, that she has a difficult time acclimating I think. But today it was warm enough that we stayed in longer and she loved it!

She is still chattering and Edward had several great conversations with her this morning. She's so easy! The funniest thing about her is that she has a bit of a dramatic streak in her. If she thinks that you've forgotten that she was recently disgruntled, she'll holler out. She just wants you to remember that she wasn't ok with that last experience. It's so funny. We laugh at how nervy she is.

A couple of things that we've discovered are similar to us are: her love of sleep (me), her morning-person disposition (Ed), her double sneezes (Ed), her love of food (both of us), her love of water (both of us). She's still able to settle herself down and put herself to sleep in her crib, like she did in May. She's very effortless.

A few pics from the day!

Gabi loves her Papa. She was rubbing cheeks with him!

I love this picture. She looks so pensive.

Gabi's shirt says, "Daddy does my hair." That explains it.

Daddy giving Gabi a few swim team training tips.

Warming up after a good swim. All she needed were her bee and duck...

Hahaha, I love the one about Ed doing her hair, because I actually tried picturing it in my mind. It went something like this: Ed starts fussing with her mop, flipping it left and right, and then finally, in a low, exasperated voice, he concedes: "Well, here's a bow. That should help."
